30th meeting with Art and lower elementary supervisors


Today we met with Mr. Ibrahim (Art craft school supervisor) and Mr. Marwan ( lower elementary school supervisor) to discuss the summer program. Mr. Iburahim has rich and long experience to plan project, therefore he helped us to make the detail planning of summer vacation. Mr Iburahim provided us the stuffs for drawing in the summer program and contributed much time for discuss with us as to improve better program.

We agreed that the summer program is 6, 7 and 8 of August for 3 days. It starts at 9:00am to 12:00 pm for 3 hours. The number of students is 15, and 6 teachers (3 art teachers and 3 lower elementary teachers).

□■ The objectives □■
In the project, the students make T-shirts for their father as a present. The family is very important and their father and mother will be one of their roll models of what they want to be in a future. It is necessary for the students to understand about the belief of their parents to keep better relationship between children and their parents. In the program, the students will make present to their father. The present is self designed T-shirts. The students draw father and put it on the T-shirts. In addition, they will hand made thanks letter to their parents. In the process of making T-shirts and thanks card, the students are expected to acquire the following skill and knowledge:
・ Creativity
・ Arabic language
・ Higher order thinking
・ Skill and knowledge of drawing and designing
・ Understanding of their family

30th meeting with supervisor of social study

Today we had meeting with social study supervisors, Mr. Imad and Mr. Kamal in order to discuss the summer program as environmental education. Nori, the Japanese teacher who had collaborative learning with UNRWA school now, showed students' work to school supervisors. And they gave him some comments. The followings are some of the supervisor's comments.

1) The geographical map of Syria has drawn by mistake.
2) Some all students consider Palestine as Israel.
3) Some students consider that Palestine is only West bank and Gaza.
4) Some students do not mention about Palestine when they pick up Arabic countries.

Japanese students investigated information about Palestine in the lesson. Some students could not find the country named "Palestine" but “Israel". Therefore they wrote "Israel" not “Palestine" in the place of Palestine. Supervisors pointed it out and recommend making it as educational resources.
It will be very good chance for Japanese students to know more about Palestine. The information on book and internet sometimes shows different from what people think in Arabic countries. Mr. Nori will arrange the lesson based on their comments.

29th Probar for presentation on 5th

Today the teacher of 4 teachers learning community (TLC) got gathered to practice the presentation for 5th of August in advance. The presentation was outstanding! TLC of (hanadi) prepared very well and contained many various kind of educational material and the practice. It was clear how much they were working and activating TLC. The TLC of (Loai) , they made presentation by showing magazine they made. In the magazine, there is much diversity to make students learn with fun. The TLC of (French), they introduced some program as educational material and resources. After the presentation, the teachers discussed very enthusiastically as to improve their presentation. They are supposed to reflect and improve the data as to make better presentation on 5th.
